2016 NAPPS Education and Networking Forum

The 2016 NAPPS Education and Networking Forum, held March 11-13 in Orlando, has been enthusiastically applauded! Members, speakers, and exhibitors all agree that the 2016 Forum was a great experience and featured some of the best of what NAPPS has to offer. With three days packed full of information, education, numerous opportunities for networking, and exhibitors showing off new products, no one left disappointed.

The wide variety of informational sessions offered during the forum included topics such as customer service skills; ways to make a pet sitting business stand out from the crowd; making the transition to employees; and keeping them happy. Tim Link was the keynote speaker, while Jennifer Blaese, aka “Poop Girl,” gave a presentation called “Doo The Right Thing.” Josh Cary of PetSittingOlogy discussed search engine optimization (SEO) and how to incorporate it into a website. David Pearsall, a NAPPS attendee favorite, covered what pet sitters need to know as their business grows, and business marketing advice was given by Mike Linville, owner of Black Dog Marketing. Meanwhile, Jonann Wild enlightened attendees on nifty new ideas for client appreciation gifts. Niki Tudge of DogNostics Career College was there to give attendees assistance regarding their forum experience. Thanks to all of the presenters for helping to make the 2016 NAPPS Educating & Networking Forum a success!

While educational sessions made up part of the forum, other events took place, as well. There was the trade show, which featured many vendors and opportunities for networking, as well as the CATCH Canine certificate program that helped NAPPS members learn to better interpret the body language of dogs. Awards were given to recognize members who have contributed their time and efforts to NAPPS programs and committees. NAPPS also took the time to thank their sponsors, including Business Insurers of the Carolinas, myNAPPS, pawTree, and Pivotal Payment, all of whom helped to make the forum a success.

“Let the Sunshine In” had a goal to Refresh, Renew and Connect, and that goal was reached! While attending a brick-and-mortar forum is a great way for the dedicated pet sitters of NAPPS to gather together, NAPPS, as always, encourages its members to take full advantage of all of the opportunities they offer for professional advancement and continued education.
